The resistant lightweight
The cassette awning is our answer for the all-round protection of fabric and technology on terraces and balconies. The elliptical, timeless cassette completely protects the fabric from the effects of the rain, wind and dirt when it is closed. When extended, it really shows off the fabric and discreetly blends in with the look of the facade so effortlessly thanks to its two-point mounting. It is ideal for small to medium-sized terraces in single-family homes and apartment buildings – and the colour can be adapted to suit individual wishes.

KGM 6+, the latest cassette awning from Schenker Storen stands out with its innovative lighting feature and modern, soft design details. It was a winner at the Red Dot Design Awards 2022 in the Product Design category.

Width 6 m
The KGM 6 is the model for larger terraces. With its maximum width of 6 m and a projection of up to 4 m, it creates an impressive shaded area of 24 m2. When closed, the cassette of the KGM 6 measures 15.6 cm in height and has a depth of 28.3 cm, incl. the bracket. These dimensions are valid for models with motor drives.

The cassette awning 5 is the KGM 6’s little sister and, with its maximum width of 5 m and projection of up to 2.5 m, provides a total shaded area of 12.5 m2. It looks exactly the same as the KGM 6, differing only in its slightly more discreet dimensions. The flat construction is very impressive when closed, measuring just 13.6 cm with a depth of 26.4 cm incl. the bracket. These dimensions are valid for models with motor drives.

The cassette awning is attached on sturdy mounting brackets. These can be secured to the front-facing side (installation on wall) or tilted 90° so it can be secured upside down on the ceiling.

The primary role of fabrics is a practical one: to provide sun, glare and sight protection. But they also create unique lighting in the room and form an integral part of the interior design. All of Schenker Storen’s carefully selected fabrics are tested brand textiles and have a long service life. For our cassette awning, we offer 100% premium acrylic in different qualities and designs to suit various needs, such as UV-protection and reflection.

Match the colour of the frame and all its profiles with your window, facade or furniture. At Schenker Storen there is an almost endless selection of colours to cater for the colour scheme of your choice. Thanks to our in-house powder-coating system, we produce weather-resistant, scratchproof and dirt-repellent products and can therefore guarantee long-lasting colour fastness.

The LEDs are seamlessly integrated in the groove of the articulated arm. They cast a beautiful light under the entire awning canopy. With this solution, users can enjoy their outdoor area late into the night thanks to the clearly higher output of the LED bulbs (temperatura di colore warm white 3200 – 3400): The high-quality LEDs can be freely adjusted from a daylight to candlelight setting.

The sophisticated LED spot lighting is ingeniously built into the cassette, which means it can also be used when it is closed. The spotlights can be easily dimmed to create a cosy setting while casting a very flattering light over the facade and outdoor area.

5. Types of drive
Crank or smartphone?
Our cassette awning can be adjusted both manually with a hand crank or a motor. On request, the awning can be controlled wirelessly or you can integrate it into a Smart Home system so you can operate it with ease at the push of a button via a central control unit or on your smartphone.
